How to Get a Handjob

A seven-step field manual, tested under laboratory conditions, for the gentleman who would very much like a hand and has run clean out of ideas for getting one.

Classified Field-tested Results: mixed

Fig. 1. A dramatization, performed by a volunteer vegetable. Your specimen may vary in length, curvature and general enthusiasm. The cream is editorial.

So. You want a handjob. Not a metaphorical one, a real one, hand-delivered by the person you happen to share a mattress with, ideally before the news ends. You have tried the classics: the meaningful stretch, the strategic towel drop, the slow wander out of the bathroom like a man who has simply misplaced his clothes. Nothing. Congratulations, you have exhausted the amateur circuit. Put on the lab coat. We are going to do this properly.

What follows is a rigorous, peer-reviewed protocol, where the peer is me and the review was also me, conducted in the field (my bedroom) under repeatable conditions (a Tuesday, low expectations). It contains genuine, faintly embarrassing wisdom your father should have handed down and did not. It also contains one secret so absurdly effective I am amazed it is legal. We reach it at Protocol 03. Do not skip ahead. Skipping ahead is how good men end the evening in a firm, disappointed handshake with themselves.

Apparatus required

  • One (1) willing partner. The entire experiment is void without her enthusiastic participation. Not optional. Not negotiable.
  • One (1) specimen, yours, freshly serviced. See Protocol 01.
  • A functioning mouth, for assembling sentences that manage to be filthy and polite at the same time.
  • Zero (0) entitlement. Leave it at the door, next to your shoes and your ego.
Protocol 01

Service the specimen

Every experiment begins with a clean instrument, and gentlemen, the instrument is you. Before you go requisitioning manual labour, present a worksite a volunteer would actually want. Shower. Tend the hedges around the monument. Wash the crown jewels and the two loyal companions who travel with them. Nobody in the entire history of human desire has reached happily for a fellow who arrived unwashed and overgrown like a neglected allotment. Make the equipment the sort of thing a hand drifts toward on purpose.

you would not shake hands after a marathon. extend the courtesy downstairs.

Protocol 02

Reduce ambient resistance

A relaxed woman has spare attention, spare goodwill and, crucially, a spare hand. So before you lower anything, lower the friction of her entire day. Do the dishes. Answer the message she asked you to answer this morning. Carry the invisible weight she has been dragging around since breakfast, and watch what gets picked up in return. Desire is a luxury item. Nobody browses the luxury aisle while stressed about a sink full of last night's pans.

an unbothered woman is a generous woman. keep her unbothered.

Protocol 03 · Classified

Deploy the direct request

Here it is, the classified intelligence, the thing that took me years and one genuinely awkward misunderstanding to acquire. Ready? You ask. Out loud. With real words, arranged into a sentence, aimed at her actual face. Hinting is not seduction, it is fog for cowards. No woman alive has ever decoded a strategic sigh and thought, "ah, a formal application for manual assistance has been received and is being processed." Say the thing. Warmly, filthily, clearly, like a grown man who knows what he wants and is charming about wanting it.

← this is the whole article. the other six steps are foreplay for the eyes.

Hinting is fog for cowards. Words are a door. Open it, and hold it like a gentleman.
Protocol 04

Calibrate the ask

But there is asking, and there is asking, and the whole evening lives in the gap between them. The bad ask, delivered with 11pm grievance energy: "you never touch me anymore." Superb, you have opened a court case, not a night. The good ask, warm and specific with a built in exit: "I have been thinking about your hands all day and honestly it is becoming a medical condition. Zero pressure if you are not in the mood. But god, I would love a hand." One is a complaint filed with the management. The other is an invitation with an easy door. People say yes to invitations. Not one soul in recorded history has said yes to a subpoena.

"zero pressure" is the magic phrase. it is what makes a yes feel free.

Protocol 05

Transmit the right signals

And retire, please, the entire Victorian repertoire. The wounded sigh. The hand parked on her shoulder that goes precisely nowhere. That is not flirting, that is amateur dramatics. The signal you actually want is confidence, worn like cologne. Step up behind her while she is doing something boring and let her quietly discover that the general has reported for duty. Announce, with a grin and not one gram of shame, that somebody downstairs is wide awake and specifically asking after her. Be bold, be playful, be a little shameless. The line between magnetic and menacing is never the filth, it is the fun and the easy exit: you are inviting, never insisting, and if she is not in the mood you laugh it off and send the general back to barracks.

confidence is the cologne. desperation is the smell that clears the room.

Addendum to Protocol 05 · Sample transmissions

Field-approved openers and the poses to strike while delivering them. Results, as ever, mixed.

Lines to deploy

  • "The general has reported for duty and requests a debrief."
  • "There is a situation downstairs, and you are the only qualified specialist."
  • "I seem to have developed a monument problem. I hear you are handy."
  • "Old faithful is awake and asking after you by name."
  • "Any chance of some manual labour? Union rates, very generous tips."
  • "Front row seats to a strictly one-man show, if you happen to be free."
  • "I have been thinking about your hands all day. It is basically a diagnosis now."

Poses to strike

  • The Presenter. Gesture at your own lap like a game-show host unveiling the star prize.
  • The Superman. Fists on hips, chest out, chin up, radiating wildly unearned confidence.
  • The Statue. Hold a marble-still classical pose and unbroken eye contact until she cracks.
  • The Peacock. One slow, shameless strut across the room and back. Own it.
  • The Referee. Both arms straight up, signalling the touchdown you are optimistically anticipating.
  • The Hopeful Puppy. Enormous pleading eyes, one head tilt, the full works.

every one of these is served with a grin, not a demand. if it lands with a laugh and a no, you laugh too and file it under protocol 07.

Protocol 06

Reciprocity and enthusiasm

The bedroom runs on the oldest economy there is, which is barter, so make yourself worth touching. Be generous with her first: attentive, unhurried, no scoreboard and no stopwatch. A hand you have to demand is not a gift, it is an invoice, and nothing cools a room like an invoice. And if the experiment succeeds, for the love of God do not review it. Nobody wants to deliver a handjob to a man issuing performance notes like a disappointed driving instructor. Receive it like the small miracle it is: loud, grateful, delighted. Enthusiasm is contagious, and a good time received tonight is the single most reliable way to get invited back to the lab tomorrow.

give first. the whole tug economy runs on goodwill.

Protocol 07

Contingency planning

And sometimes, despite immaculate hygiene and flawless method, the answer is no. This is not a malfunction. This is data. You thank her, you mean it, you change the subject to literally anything else, and you do not, this part is load bearing, run the same experiment again ten minutes later but louder. A no respected tonight is exactly what keeps a yes possible tomorrow. A no you argue with is a door you are personally bricking shut, by hand, with your two loyal companions looking on in disappointment.

"no" is a full sentence. no footnotes, no appeal, no rematch.

That is the manual. Wash the equipment, lighten her load, drop the hints for the fog they always were, and use your words like a man with a plan. Everything else is garnish, and the garnish, as Fig. 1 so proudly demonstrates, is optional.

Control group

Here is the beautiful part. This experiment ships with a backup that never has a headache, never had a long day, and never needs talking into anything: you, one perfectly capable hand, and Edge Trainer. It sets the rhythm, walks you right up to the edge, and holds you there far longer than you would ever manage flying solo. No asking, no calibrating, no dishes, no subpoenas. A guaranteed happy ending, and the only permission slip you need is your own.

Fine, I'll do it myself

The part that is not a joke

Quick word from the Ethics Committee, which is also me, but sober. This whole thing is a comedy bit about being clean, considerate, generous, and brave enough to ask for what you want like an adult. It is not a manual for pressuring anyone into anything, ever. Consent is not a technique you unlock at Protocol 03, and it is absolutely not something you nag, sulk, or wear a partner down into. An enthusiastic yes, or it is a no. "No" is a complete sentence and it takes no appeal. If she has said no, the only move, and the honourable one, is to hear it the first time. Persistence is for job applications. Nagging is not seduction, it is a red flag wearing a bow.

18+ only. This is entertainment, not medical, legal or relationship advice. Be the kind of man people actually want to say yes to.
